15 Sep New favourite – The Geometry of Pasta
I purchased this as a gift for a pasta love friend a couple years ago, but fell in love with it so much that I had to get one for myself! Now, I’m guilty of buying beautiful books and magazines, flicking through them and then leaving them on my book shelf with my collection of other amazing books.
However, that’s usually when I’m absolutely thrilled to come across it again and fall in love with it as much as I did the first time – sometimes even more.
‘The Geometry of Pasta’ is a wonderfully designed and illustrated book, featuring hundreds of tasty recipes, all categorised by the pasta type or shape that works perfectly with that dish. There’s a bit of history on each pasta shape and although it is lacking in food photography, it makes up for in abundance in its black and white patterns. Each pasta shape has been drawn to its geometric scale, showcase the exact contours, size and dimensions – a true celebration of its diversity.
I recently revisited their website, there is a cool little animated video and also a shop where you can buy all sorts of merchandise, including pasta and sauces all in beautifully illustrated packaging that you’d find hard to throw out!
I definitely recommend checking them out, it’s the ideal gift for any foodie friends you have or just something for yourself.
